Eating Rainbows

I found this sweet little recipe on the internet, I don't remember where So i can't give the credit where it's due. Rainbow Cupcakes. It takes about two hours to make and a few sweet minutes to eat. Contrary to what you may think, these are not jello induced but plain vanilla cupcakes. I added sprinkles to the icing (soft vanilla icing that I couloured differently and managed to top the cupcakes with with my home-made ziplock pastry pouches) so it would be even more colourful and rainbow-like. It's my first self-raising flour and casting sugar recipe. I'm happy I aced it!
I took a whole lot of pictures so I decided to only post the nicest ones here. The part-eaten ones are my favourite. Eeating them to take the pictures was also fun. Just looking at them makes me want to make some more!

Out of the closet

So I drew this butterfly on my closet door I think about in 2003. The butterfly is in pencil and coloured crayon. I took out my paints about a year ago and felt like re-doing it but I was too scared to ruin it so I decided to paint around it. It gave a pretty result. Image quality isn't that good though.

Little sister Paint-ified!

Special resquest made by my little sister. She saw my previous attempts and decided she wanted one of herself. She had red hair at the time (though not for long) and was jealouse of my Snape doll (see previous post) so I decided to draw her in a way that she could have my Snape plushie.

My sister loves anything medieval so I saw it fit to draw her in an outfit that ressembled the one I gave her. The red background (vector-type again) seemed to fit and it's her favourite colour. I love the mini-snape plushie.

Snape Plushie

So I made a Severus Snape plushie after lots of thought and little consideration of the *time* it would take! The body, clothes, features and hair base are all made of felt. As you can see, he has the basic teacher outfit he always has underneath with the white collar and sleeve ends (that can't be seen too well in the pictures) and the outer school robes (with the added slytherin emblem for effect) that are removable. The wand also can be removed and put back on his right hand.

I didn't want to put legs on him because the felt I had was too stiff and I didn't have enough skin-coloured (had bought a small multi-coloured pack since I didn't know how the project would turn out) felt left. He's cute anyhow!

So there was a blond, a brunette and a red-head...

So this is a paint eperiment. The red-head is based on my friend 'Kermit', the middle one is, once again, based on me but with a more accurate version of my body and the blond one is based on another one of my friends, 'Minie'. It's also the first time I use backgrounds (vector-type) with full-bodied Paints. I really like it. It's fit to fit my screen and comes out really good in full size.

Paint Avatar

Managed to do a full face with lips and I like the little background in it. Had to do this for an avatar. Yes, she has glasses (same character as before) since she is based on me. I just couldn't get the body down right so I erased it -___-

Painting Wonder

I love drawing by hand and I love using my computer. Thank goodness because using *paint* and my mouse is the only way of being able to draw characters... I just suck at drawing full-bodied people by hand... so I did tests on Paint. This one is mostly a test to try to figure out my own persona.
So this is my first try... the hair isn't too great and I don't like that I hid part of the face.
This is the second try, less bad. I tried a different hair style, tied in a ponytail and different pose. Slightly better.
This one I actually really love. Stayed with the pyjama theme though here it shows slightly less. First time I do this kind of pose though and even though the hair hides the face a little I still think it's my favourite one.

So I'm still trying out some characters but I think I'll stick with this one for now.
